EOL is proud to announce the appointment of Wendy Davies MCIPS, MBA as Managing Director as of 1st January 2012. Wendy has been working with EOL since 1st August 2011 as Supply Chain Director, but has this year accepted the position of Managing Director and will be working very closely with EOL’s Founder and CEO, Jan Smith.

Jan is thrilled to have Wendy on board and said: "I'm delighted Wendy Davies has accepted the post of Managing Director for EOL IT Services Limited, alongside the post of Group MD. Her previous experience with major International Companies such as BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Bombardier and BAA to name but a few, brings a breadth of experience to the group. Her pragmatic approach to EOL's clients, customers and suppliers will not go unnoticed."

"Her passion for getting the job done, to the highest possible standard will ripple through the entire organisation. In these difficult economic times, businesses that recognise that excellent service delivery enables continued growth, will sustain a strong fiscal future for themselves and their clients to succeed. Welcome aboard Wendy."

Wendy commented: "I am delighted to join EOL IT Services Limited as Managing Director. The EOL team have experienced significant change and uncertainty over the past five months, all in preparation for future growth. Due to the dedication of the team in hand, company performance results thus far have been outstanding. I look forward to working with and supporting such a talented team of individuals in what promises to be a very challenging year for us all."

Interestingly, Jan Smith’s group of companies have majority female Boards and Senior Management Teams. Research shows that we are bucking the trend in the UK and Worldwide. Where you aware that there are over 190 Heads of State globally, but only 9 are women? Amazingly, just 13% of parliament members worldwide are women.

However, companies with more women on their boards out perform their rivals with 42% higher return on sales, a 66% higher return on invested capital and a 53% higher return on equity.

Jan Smith, founder and CEO of EOL IT Services and a true entrepreneur, started the business in 1996 with a clear vision of providing professional and customer focused IT asset recycling and secure data erasure to businesses. It is these goals that remain at the heart of EOL today.

Jan strived for 12 years to develop and grow EOL into the successful business that it is today. With many FTSE 500 listed clients, some who have been with EOL since its conception, Jan created an environmentally focussed company with a committed team of staff. With an unblemished reputation for protecting their clients data and identity, EOL continue to utilise the very latest in data erasure technologies and systems.

After 12 years with EOL, Jan identified further gaps in the market place and in her true entrepreneurial style, went on to start two further companies. The first, a Children’s Day Nursery. Very diverse from Jan’s long career in IT, but Jan was aware of the lack of quality day nurseries, providing care from 7am to 7pm for busy working parents, in the geographical area. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Little Owls Day Nursery was created. Now providing childcare to 118 families.

Jan, a keen advocate of staff training and development, employed apprentices in both her businesses. However, she was shocked to experience the service received from training providers, who showed little understanding of a commercial operation. Their focus was as educationalists, not grasping the vital needs of the businesses their apprentices were to become part of.
